It consists of metal panels, translucent panels and thermal and acoustic insulation.
The metal panels are the roof’s main component. The panels are shaped in a forming machine with sets of rollers in a continuous process, obtaining a special corrugation.
The width of the corrugated panels is 1,000 mm. and their maximum length is 12 m.
The materials used in roofing can be:
-
Type 1
Sandwich panel with interior insulation of polyurethane foam pre-finished on both sides.
-
Type 2
Sandwich panel with interior insulation of polystyrene foam pre-finished on both sides.
-
Type 3
“In situ” sandwich made up of self-supporting sheet metal with a pre-finished, galvanised steel cover, insulation with light glass wool, 80 mm thick (M0), and self-supporting sheet metal with an interior cover of pre-finished, galvanised steel.
-
Type 4
Pre-finished, galvanised sheet metal to be defined according to requirements.
-
Type 5
Galvanised sheet metal to be defined according to requirements.
The roof panels have a longitudinal slit to house plasticine-like sealing paste, which acts as a barrier to prevent water from seeping in.
Transversal dilations are absorbed by the panel’s undulations. The panels are positioned over the roof girders, overlapping each other by 15 cm.
The number of joints in the roofing system is very small.
To join the panel to the structure, self-screwing bolts are used, designed to support tougher conditions than self-tapping, bolts as they are wider and there are more grooves per unit of length so the surface area in contact with the panel is greater.
The panel is joined to the translucent panel by a rivet bolt.
Positioning this bolt in the hole in the panel, by using an electric gun we recover the central stud, making it bend towards the head and outer casing, transforming it into a rivet.
The roof bolt has a neoprene washer on the lower part of its head to ensure waterproofing. The bolt is chromed and the rivet is aluminum.

Translucent panels
The translucent roof panels are plaques with a variable length of 1,000 mm. The translucent plaques are made with polyester reinforced with fibreglass protected with GEL-COAT to improve durability. Their optimal qualities in passing light and their excellent resistance to impact and to atmospheric conditions make them essential for installing skylights with the maximum use of natural light. The colour “opal white” ensures light diffusion.
The translucent panels cannot be deformed by heat and are corrugated and sealed in the same way as the metal panels, in order to completely waterproof the roof.
In special cases, it is advisable to use double translucent panels with an internal air chamber.

Skylights
Each TEKTON industrial unit is designed to make maximum use of natural light, according to the activity inside the industrial unit (warehouse, factory, laboratory,…) and geographical area. The number of skylights is optimised in accordance with the NTE-QLC standard. The colour “ice” ensures diffusion of light and for buildings that need a high level of insulation, thermal performance is guaranteed by the double layer. According to the customers’ wishes, skylights can be provided with an electric or automatic temperature-fuse mechanism, for ventilating or extracting smoke in the event of fire.
